Alexis Mabille: Haute Couture show Spring/Summer 2018 (with interview)

access_time 00:02:10

Designer : alexis mabillecollection: ‘the most beautiful quality, is to be yourself and accept it’ the introductory words posed on the collection’s program. a collection that opens with a basic piece from a feminine wardrobe with a couture reinterpretation of a navy coat dress adorned with crystal buttons. focus: on ballooning volumes, sheath dresses or collared dresses with a ‘watteau’ back. the numerous bustier dresses, the satin tuxedo dress in brocade lamé. to note: the jewelry at the top of braided hair and around the ankles which bestows an added couture touch. interview with alexis mabille:lots of corsets, lots of work on structure, slightly bulb dresses, big flounces and extremely straight things. i love this slightly dissonant aspect sometimes in the structure of the collection, to show things that are extremely different in terms of looks. with a title, which says “finally do what you want, assume it and that’s the most beautiful thing”. this is never really bright satin, there are things like the satin leather, which are slightly mattified with cotton inside, which have this suppleness and at the same time structure so it’s really this idea of working with materials that i like but it’s also like the work of an architect and it allows us to get what we want. that is to say that we can’t realise certain things if we don’t have good materials, into which we’ll put horsehair and some structure. there’s a lot of work from the ateliers inside the fabrics that no one sees. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
