Portugal Fashion Week, between Lisbon and Porto

After a few days of presentations in Lisbon, Portugal fashion week installs itself in Porto for the 38th time. 4 collections shown in the two cities have particularly caught our eye. First, Carlos Gil. A figure in Portugal, dressing politicians and royalty, who’s received several awards in his career. Recently, he’s even been invited to show in Milan. Perhaps it’s the current excitement behind Gucci and its designer, Alessandro Michele who drove him to present his latest collection with romantic tints, reminiscing, in some ways, the Italian label.Hugo Costa seems to follow the same path as his compatriot. Very much appreciated, teaching in fashion schools, his sporty, mixed printed collections thrive in loser fabrics and shapes. The basics reworked in a soft and luxurious way are also found at Pedro Pedro. Comfort seems to be the designer’s watchword, loving masculine textures. The felt and tartan are revisited and femininity takes on a new face. One of the finest collections seen in this fashion week. Finally Daniela Barros, who was part of a recent young designer’s aid program, this season sparks off for the first time on the Porto main stage. Her clothes stand out a mile with their asymmetrical construction and the desire to propose a new, modern and urban silhouette.Music free of right : Bandit & Nikit
