Hervé Léger by Max Azria Womenswear Show Autumn/Winter 2015/16 in New York with interview

It was during a trip to Barcelona whilst visiting Gaudi’s « Sagrada Familia » that Lubov Azria had the inspiration to create this new Hervé Léger collection. The short dresses reworked the cathedral’s style with a 3D effect, through glass beads and embroidered metallic studs reflecting the light, or the textured jacquard fabrics evoking the stained glass windows of this celebrated cathedral. Appliqué leather and the famous bands reworked into a harness style highlight the curves of the body. These models will still always have just as much success on the red carpet. To note: The colours of Spain seen on certain pieces or again the leather jackets coordinated to be worn either with dresses or trousers.Interview : Lubov Azria : I travelled to Barcelona, and I visited the Basilica de Sagrada Familia and it was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to, I was so inspired. When I walked in I couldn’t believe it. I was actually inspired by the 3 façades, one is nativity which means birth. So in the first part of the collection you’ll see the tree of life and birds, which is done in 3D jacquards. Then you’ll see beautiful nature jacquards that were done with this beautiful 3D beading, and I like things protruding because growing is so important. Then it goes into the passion, which is the second façade. It is more about the stud work and the goth part of the architecture where you see it is very rock and roll and very cool. The third part is the glory which is all about art nouveau.Max Azria :This year we are presenting a Hervé Léger collection with a big change. For example, the big change for me is that you are going to see a collection featuring short dresses, because beforehand Hervé Léger only had long dresses. Music from the show
