Narciso Rodriguez Spring Summer Collection 2014 in New York (ITW)

For Narciso Rodriguez, the simplicity of the cut showcases his fabric work. And it’s through analysing sharkskin and crystals under a microscope that the designer dreamed up his collection for next summer, by using material effects and by subtly playing with colour. The lace, the leather and the chiffon paves the way for a new ultra feminine, desirable and wearable wardrobe.

Narciso Rodriguez: I looked for inspiration under a microscope really , I saw crystals and sharkskin under a microscope, different patterns and created materials from that through laser bonding and different types of lace and combining, (as you will see in the show), charmos and chiffon with laminate and plastics and metallics. But it’s very simple; I wanted to create a collection that was extremely wearable, very practical, quite simple but made out of very interesting materials.
