Exclusive meet with Kenzo Takada who engages in all honesty... about fashion

In front of the camera and in exclusivity, Kenzo Takada honestly gives us his views on the evolution of the fashion world since his departure of his eponymous label by LVMH in 1999. Fair play, he paints a complacent picture of two young designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon who for the past year, have boosted the interest of the brand.

Kenzo Takada : At the moment what I find sad is that all the ready- to-wear and couture houses do the same thing, I feel that when I see photos, they're all the same. It's true that there are certain designers that catch my eye, I wonder what it is, it's not the same thing. I think that everything is so globalised and it's a real shame.

It's great, today the designers at Kenzo have really given a blow of freshness, or youth, dynamism, especially with the advertising images, it really gives it a very positive, open, dynamic and young side, and I find them amazing. I have met them once or twice, they are also very nice, they look at a lot of archives, so it's good and I'm pretty happy.

It's good to make changes, I find it rather positive. Designers who bring something new, freshness, especially this year with Dior and Saint Laurent.

I don't think I will return to fashion, not now, especially with all these young designers, it's better to leave it to them.
