Y/Project - MENSWEAR collection Spring/Summer 2017 in Paris (with interview)

Designer: Glenn MartensInspiration: Paris & le bateau mouche, a summery collection with a new sophistication, adjustable-reversible clothes Silhouette: tuxedo and suit with "Y" cuff links, loose trousers, top embroidered with flowersFocus on: high waisted jeans that also can be worn low waisted with a V closure + The powdery tones+ Sweaters woven with knotsNote: the cape sleeved pleated sweater & pleated jogging bottoms For the evening: the shirt in apricot or silvery sparkled silkInterview from Glenn Martens:We really want to find ourselves, go further, and bring more evening wear into our wardrobe in a more playful, younger and easier way. We took the classic tuxedo jacket and played with the sleeves and Y project always does a fun twist, you can really adapt the piece to yourself so for this time, there are huge sleeves that we've made into sleeve cuffs for the classic tuxedos and the classic shirts and with the way we've buttoned them, it gives it new draping and creates new volumes. A part of the collection is based on the fact that you can adapt things to yourself, there are parts that you can take off, add on, there are buttons that come off, or close. There is a lot of weave work in the knit which creates the idea of armor and I always like to include historical references so you can see that idea a bit too.Music of the show, do not reuse for more than 7 days after the show
